Affectionately known as “The Greens”, Merewether Carlton is the most successful club in the Newcastle rugby competition.

The club proudly fills the maximum number of teams possible in the Newcastle Competition comprising of five senior grades, a colts and a women’s side. The club boasts approximately 200 senior and well over 200 junior registered players and has a strong community following.

Merewether Carlton has won the coveted Club Championship title a record 21 times, including an amazing seven straight titles from 2005 to 2011, a feat never before achieved in the Newcastle & Hunter competition.
