Greens Assistance Program

Merewether Carlton are proud to announce access to our new Greens Assistance Program which commenced in late 2023.  This has been an ongoing project by the Merewether Greens Rugby Foundation, headed by Gareth Ernst and supported by the rest of the board.

We’re very proud to be a leader in supporting our players and volunteers in a Grass Roots sporting organisation and have two very committed Welfare Officers in Ben Bowen (Seniors) and Cale Wallace (Juniors) leading this program from the ground up. They will be the first point of contact for all players, coaches and managers if required and will also support learning and educational material being shared within our groups.

We want to break down the stigma of Mental Health and Wellbeing and offer this support free of charge.

What’s on offer

We are offering all players from under 13’s up through our senior teams, coaches and managers and support staff, access to professional Confidential psychological support. We have partnered with NewPsych Psychologists to offer each eligible club member 3 sessions per calendar year.

Sessions can be face to face, phone or video. These sessions are completely confidential, and no names are shared with the club. Please don’t leave it too long to reach out.

How the Program Works

  • Contact NewPsych by phone, email or online
  • NewPsych’s intake team will match you with the right counsellor
  • A prompt appointment will be booked
  • Follow up support will be arranged as needed
