Sponsors Breakfast 2021

Last week Merewether Carlton kick started the 2021 Season with our Sponsors Breakfast at the Green Room. We welcomed our Senior Club, Junior Club and Greenies Grommet Partners to the Green Room for the first official function of the year with a chance to network with fellow Greens partners.

In addition to a welcome from Club President John Davis, the creation of the Adams-Halter ANZAC Shield was announced which will be contested between Wanderers each year across Senior, Junior and Women’s Teams.

Another exciting announcement was the expansion of the Game Day program for the 2021 Season which will see additional food and beverage options at home games as well as additional entertainment in the form of music and jumping castles for kids.

A Q&A session was also conducted with two of our valued long term sponsors to endeavour to gain a greater understanding of their businesses as well as why they have chosen to Partner with Merewether Carlton Rugby. Jode Roach from Allied Newcastle and Luke Sessions from Sessions Legal, both spoke of their long involvement with the club and the value they see in giving back and contributing to a community organisation like Merewether Carlton.

The morning was finished off with the draw for the 2021 Naming Rights to the Green Room with Muller Partnership replacing Sage Painting for the 2021 Season.

Long-term sponsor PKF

PKF
Whilst PKF is a traditional rugby league firm, with its support for the sport launching back to the beginning of its 40-year history, it’s not your typical accounting firm. It’s a whole lot more.

Andrew Beattie, the firm’s Business Advisory Services leader, set the record straight, β€œwhilst our relationship with the Greens started because a client asked us to get involved, it has evolved to be a sponsorship that the firm gets wholeheartedly behind. Our kids play for the Greens, Saturday afternoon games are littered with familiar faces and it’s a team that plays an integral role in the community.”

PKF is a firm with purpose. We get up every day to help our clients choose their future, the way the Merewether Greens get up every day to help the community forge a future. And, in the same way the Greens are more than just a sports club, PKF is more than just an accounting firm.

The crest emblazoned on the shirts of the Merewether Greens stand for strength and wisdom. It is these attributes that PKF brings to its client relationships, using our wisdom to advise them on far more than their tax return, to ensure that they have the strength in their business to be able to grow.

PKF, a proud support of the Greens.

PKF. Where smart business goes to grow.

ZENVIRON STEPS UP AS MAJOR SPONSOR FOR THE GREENS

After completing a two-year corporate sponsorship at the Bledisloe Cup level, we have decided to step up as the major corporate sponsor of the Merewether Carlton Rugby Club at the World Cup level on a two-year agreement.

Our relationship with the Greens is seen as a successful one based on the professional management of the club and the way club and its supporters represent themselves in the community and through their successes on and off the field.

We are keen to see what 2019 will bring at an exciting time, with the new club house being opened and by all reports a strong player list across all grades.

Zenviron is a highly experienced, full-service Balance of Plant contractor specialising in the design and construction of large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia and New Zealand.

Led by some of the top minds in the industry, we bring together experience, innovation and commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the risks and impacts of climate change.

Our dedication to reducing greenhouse gas and the risks and impacts of climate change is driven by our commitment to provide industry leading solutions to large scale solar and wind power markets. We employ over 120 staff with majority of those from Newcastle and the Hunter.

Having this involvement with MCRC, we like to think that we are β€œKeeping the Greens, Green”, and we are looking forward to getting down to the games on a Saturday arvo and cheering on the Men’s and Women’s teams to victory. Go Greens.

Sponsors Breakfast 2019

This morning we held our annual sponsors breakfast at the impressive offices of PKF. We would like to thank all of our major and minor sponsors for their contributions and continued support of the club year on year.

This year as part of the sponsorship package, sponsors had the chance to win naming rights of the new Clarke Stand. Congratulations goes to Sean Hersee and Sage Painting on winning this sought after prize.

Thank you to Andrew, Jorja and the team at PKF for hosting us this morning and allowing us to use your wonderful space.

Meet The New Owners Of The Burwood Inn

One of our long-time major sponsors, The Burwood Inn (affectionately known as The Zoo of course), recently changed hands and we were keen to get to know the new faces behind this wonderful establishment.

John Palmieri (pictured right) is the Burwood’s proud new owner. Newcastle born and bred AND former Greens player (in the 70’s and 80’s), John has a strong connection to the Merewether community and is pleased to be continuing the Burwood’s major sponsorship of the club. Look out for John donning the green at our games this year.

Sandra and Tony Dart (pictured left) are the new publicans of the Burwood. Originally from the Northern Rivers of Grafton, the Dart’s have a massive 38 years on the board in the pub game! With 25 years in the Newcastle / Hunter Valley region including stints at Greta, Bradford (Maitland) and more recently Wallsend.

Pub Philosophy: always remain heavily involved in the local community and especially through sport. They are very excited to be supporting the Greens along with other strong sporting clubs such as the Merewether Women’s Soccer Club.

Thursday nights will remain $15 snitty and a beer night for all greens members, which is a great chance to show support outside the weekends.

For more information on other specials and whats on at the Burwood, visit the Burwoods website.

We look forward to seeing John, Sandra and Tony during the 2019 season!
