Last Saturday saw us bid our final farewell to the legendary old Green Room.
Newcastle Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes was joined by Mike Rabbit, Stephen Reid, Peta Winney-Baartz and old boy greens legend Ronny Rose to reminisce and share stories of many memories enjoyed in the green room.
It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces including many of the old boys, senior and junior players and supporters come along to mark this occasion.
Ron Rose removed the Green Room sign and club members walked the honour boards from the old green room to the new green room in the Clarke Stand.
This was a huge milestone in the history of the club as we said goodbye to the old and welcome the amazing new Green Room facility.
It certainly is strange to see the old green room now gone, but we hope that this space can now be used as a children’s playground and further enhance the facilities of Mitchell Park.
Thank you to Nuatali and to everyone who came along on the day.
Thank you also to Stewart Hazell who took these wonderful photos that will be cherished by the club and form part of the club’s history.
